Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:1—79
From Matthew’s personal account and Dr. Luke’s account of his interviews with eye-witnesses to his Greek friend and magistrate, Theophilus.
“Gabriel told me he is going to earth! It must be time!”
“That’s exciting! It must be close now!” answers the other angel. “I wonder when we will get to announce his birth.
“Will it take nine months just like it does for a human?”
“Adonai said he would become a human.”
“And Abba said he would be born as a baby!”
“Wow-----that is so amazing! When He became Michael He just suddenly was an angel like us, remember?”
“I will miss him so much,” says the first angel sadly.
The angels are excited! They have been asked to take the news to other worlds that Adonai is going to earth to become a human—the second Adam.
They all cried when He first told them. They asked if he would be ok, if there would be any risk?
He assured them, “There is always some risk with freedom, but I will win. You will be allowed to come and encourage me at times when I need it.
They offered to go instead.
“Only I can do this mission. I created them. So I must redeem them.”
Why would God come here?
And how could He if He'd had to stop the warm hugs, the harmonious conversations, the joyful, affectionate laughter of Eden so His presence wouldn’t cause death to Adam and Eve? How could He be “God with us”?
And why would He want to?
